Hey don't shoot the messenger. Have a read of the below which explains alot. It doesn't matter how many times they design them they'll still be practically the same due to how tight the rules are. I imagine across all the teams they're 80-90% the same as all working with same size wheel and disc's. Don't focus on the brakes as such as just a part to name in the protest which was really about process. Say it would usually take 200 hour's to design, this way they've got it down to 50. Therefore gained 150 to improve performance elsewhere and that's really what the punishment is for. That was my take anyway but have a read yourself. https://www.planetf1.com/news/fia-rp20-conclusions/07-08-2020 15:47

They can carry on using them and will not be penalised further. The brakes are legal as per the technical regulations and even if forced to change would still be very similar. The fine and point's deduction is for how they designed them. In short with a headstart using designs they legally bought last year. FIA stated no rules had been broken intentionally and also that the decision is final and no further penalties will be applied. Unless either party appeals of course, so expect it to rumble on for a while yet.07-08-2020 13:07

Hehe. Don't get me wrong I like Ric and want him to do well, more so next year when he joins the team I support. However the Renault and he were lucky to finish in 4th, thanks to Bottas and Sainz blowouts. Stroll not being able to pass for toffee, on track at least. Perez would of no doubt qualified ahead if not got past in a faster car. Then Albons brain fart otherwise he'd be ahead as well. That's 4 and Stroll 5 if gets good qualy. Looks like Renault have built a very driveable car this year. Ric finishing a few seconds ahead of his teammate, one who's getting back to grips with racing. To me shows they're both getting pretty much the maximum from it. Just need to add some raw speed now and they will be up there.07-08-2020 21:25

Hardly. Would have been 7th with teammate right behind without all the punctures. Renault just built a fairly decent car for a change.07-08-2020 12:43

It's crazy isn't it. Hero to zero in a week and after a better result than first time out. No doubt he struggled past weekend and was for whole weekend. From first practice looked like he'd gone the wrong way on set up and just couldn't get it back. Either that or Max just got that more comfortable with the car. The truth will play out but way too soon to write him off yet.17-07-2020 01:33

Lol. So you think Verstappen or Charles would welcome Lewis in their respective team's? No, of course not. Little boy Max is too scared of fighting a broken Vettel let alone anyone better and Charles. Well, Carlos will make him look average next year. Maybe, just maybe there's not a better driver than Hamilton to put in the sister car!16-07-2020 09:50

Ffs, who and that's rhetorical proofs read this copy before hitting paste. Vettel won 4, Four title's at RedBull not bloody 3. A villager in some remote part of the Amazon jungle cut off from the rest of humanity could tell you that and they don't even have electricity! Seriously, this shitty year has left me needing a job and you clearly have one going. Let's talk or shape the feck up.15-07-2020 16:25

Absolutely. I'd be disgusted if it were to be the case.15-07-2020 13:20
